Class 5: Preparing for Postpartum

This class teaches you about the physical recovery, as well as the hormonal and emotional changes, that come after birth. It is recommended for all first time moms and especially important for those who feel they have a propensity for anxiety, emotional ups and downs, OCD, or depression. (Keep in mind, we are not doctors or therapists. This class is informative, not diagnostic.)

It is also a very wise class to take if you will have limited support to help with Baby or a partner who will be returning to work very quickly. We will discuss feeding and sleeping routines, as well as how to plan ahead for your own meals, house cleaning, sibling care, and self-care. We also discuss relationship changes that tend to occur during this period and how to improve communication during this time.

This class prepares you for the fragile period that is the “4th trimester,” a chapter that unfortunately gets overlooked much too frequently. If you feel that you and your partner could benefit from a little planning ahead, this class aims to put your mind at ease about the postpartum period.

Format:

Once you request this class, you will receive an email with instructions for payment.

The content includes:

  • A 1 hour class with Back To You founder, Traci. (Currently only available as a zoom recording.)

  • Notes so you can follow along with the video.

  • A homework assignment that is a postpartum plan (like a birth plan, but for your 4th trimester) for you and your partner to fill out together.

  • Handouts about risk factors and checklists for postpartum mood disorders.

  • Guides for safe medications during the postpartum period while breastfeeding.

  • Handouts for birth partners so they can observe Mom’s emotional health.

  • List of local and virtual resources for postpartum mental health disorders.

This pre-recorded class costs $55, or it can be done in-person for $85/hr.

Additional one-on-one time for virtual Q&A is $75/hour and can be added any time.
